The Awakened City by: Arthur Miriello

     The Awakened City is the first novel of a series called Tales of King
Dunen.   Although it is aimed to attract young readers, adults would enjoy
it as well.  It is a paperback narrative full of adventure and exploration.
A delightful read, easy to understand. Its fast pace keeps you spellbound
from beginning to end.

  After witnessing the death of his father and brother, the young Dunen
runs for his life. As he struggles to understand God's purpose in the tragic 
event, he desperately seeks news of his mother's well-being. 
  His father's throne now usurped by evil men, they viciously search for a 
infamous mystical sword to gain greater power for their master.
Dunen begins his incredible journey to regain his father's throne and to 
learn God's will. His struggles lead him to difficult times, decisions and places.

 I enjoyed the book tremendously and highly recommend it to Christian youth.
Godly characters in the story pray and believe that God will deliver them
from the hands of their enemies.  Young King Dunen follows his heart and is
blessed for trusting in God.

 My hope would be that the Tales of King Dunen would open the hearts and
eyes of the youth and give them spiritual tools with which to draw from when
facing life's challenges..

I feel that The Awakened City, by Arthur Miriello is an excellent
alternative to the more popular secular novels.
